The house and apartment are typical of buildings in the old part of Villanueva Del Trabuco, situated in a stunning river valley surrounded by mountains. The area is ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding. There are many great places within easy driving distance, including Antequera with its ancient Dolmen caves, Malaga, Granada and the Alhambra Palace, Sierra Nevada, Cordoba, Seville, Jaen and the beaches and resorts of the Costa Del Sol. Lakes Vinuela and Iznahar are a half hour drive away, the latter having a sandy beach, ideal for swimming and picnics and during the summer months, there is a beach cafe and boat hire.   

The village has plenty of bars and several nice restaurants. There are various food shops and a small indoor market selling fresh produce. Trabuco is a traditional working village and makes its living from the surrounding olive groves. Five minutes walk from the house (photo below left) there is a new open air swimming pool which is surrounded by pine forest, with wonderful views of the village and mountains from the poolside.(The pool is open from the end of June to the middle of September.)
